Well here he is, my 2 year old named him Roo. I rescued Roo from a terrible situation, he was abandoned and neglected by those who have watched him starve and waste away in their neighborhood. He has a tumor in his left kidney and his mouth has ulcers and missing teeth but he is doing much better now as you can see as he sleeps on the couch. He will spend what is left of his life here with his new family and will receive all the care he will need and all the love he deserves.

This is Roo.

Rooo! He is awesome. I have a similar picture posted of my kitty Shadow. We also rescued him. He had a rough beginning until I found him as a little stay kitty at my back door. It was a year and one day since he adopted us.

Love the tongue! :)

it touches me to know that you've taken care of an animal that truly needed you. i believe that god puts each of our animals into our lives, because he knows just what they need, and just what we need. turning away from an animal because it is already ill doesn't make any sense to me. the cat i've had for six years now, ginny, was abandoned by our neighbours. it was the height of winter, and for weeks i watched her beg anyone who walked by, up and down the street, for attention and help. my mother, at the time, was sure she belonged to someone and wouldn't let me take her in. when she started coming in through the vent in my bedroom floor every night -- that is when i decided she was ours for good.

Roo was dying and the people that had him were just watching him die, slowly.
I don't understand how any human being could sit back and do nothing.
After taking him to the vet I was told there was nothing left of him and that I should put him to sleep, he weighed 6 pound and was facing some serious health issues; I gave this some thought as I did not want to prolong his suffering any longer.
Well....Roo now weighs 9 pounds, his mouth is doing much better, he eats like a little horse, never gets enough. Obviously I went against what the vet said but I had to, my heart knew that Roo needed to be loved even if it were for a short time, he needed to experience what it felt like to have someone care about him.
That was one of the best decisions I ever made, Roo is the sweetest little guy, most lovable cat I have ever met. Everyday he shows me how much he appreciates the chance he has been given, he loves his home and he really fits right in, like he has been here always. I know he still faces health issues but we will face them together, he has already surpassed what the vets had anticipated and they say his kidneys are doing well, sometimes love really is the best medicine.

you are a special person, People like us have huuuuge hearts, and so we need more pets to fill up the spaces in them. I have 5 cats, and two dogs, it's like potato chips, you cant have just one!
